YES... I am still in the process of forming the VDA!!! My vision is for it to be a non-profit organization. It is a long-term goal and with the economy the way it is right now, it has been a slow process. BUT anyone who knows me, knows that I take one small step at a time and build a solid foundation.
Over the past few months I have started to compile a list of Virginia doulas, by visiting many organizational websites (DONA, ALACE, CAPPA, ICEA, etc... and of course Birth Matters Virginia). Not all the listings have email addresses. Having an email list is my goal. Once the organization is formed, I plan to send out a newsletter letting as many doulas as possible know about the VDA and how they can become involved. PLEASE feel free to email me anytime with questions, for more information, or to add your name/email to the list at birthways@hotmail.com
